Rebecca TurmeL

Singer-Songwriter & Cover Artist

Rebecca Turmel initially planned to pursue a career in musical theatre, but her passion for storytelling took a turn when she taught herself guitar and began creating unique adaptations of her favorite songs. Her most recent release, “Twenty Years From Now” is a cover song that perfectly exemplifies her ability to make each song her own.

After finding success with performing live as a cover artist for a few years, Rebecca took a leap of faith and quit her day job in 2020 to become a full-time musician. In 2022, she began writing and recording original music, taking her musical journey to the next level. One of her latest singles, “The Road Song” tells the story of the life she’s been living on the road and features Jackson Browne’s guitarist, Val McCallum.

Rebecca’s decision to dive headfirst into her recording career led her all the way to Blackbird Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. She worked with producer Bryan Clark (Bonnie Raitt, Kelsea Ballerini) and engineer Michael Walter (Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood) on her female empowerment anthem, “Girls on Fire“. This track features some of Nashville’s finest musicians including Adam Fluhrer on Electric Guitar (The Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell), John Henry Trinko on Piano (Kacey Musgraves), and Chris Brush on Drums (Toby Mac).

Describing Rebecca’s sound is difficult as she is influenced by a wide range of music. However, we do know that her voice is somehow both powerful and vulnerable. She has a unique talent for storytelling and always manages to connect with her listeners on a personal level. Although she is a relatively new songwriter, Rebecca Turmel‘s catchy tunes and relatable narratives prove her potential as an artist, and the future of her music career looks exciting and bright. Keep your eye on her.
